Attorney

301-251-3752

Seeking attorney to work in our boutique employment litigation and counseling firm in Rockville, Maryland.  We handle both employee-side claims, including wage and hour class actions, unlawful discrimination, and retaliation claims, as well employer-side counseling and defense.  The ideal candidate is team-oriented but can work independently and exercise initiative.  A strong interest in litigation and a willingness to eventually learn how to handle all aspects of a case from beginning to end, including trial, is a must.  We work in Maryland, DC and Virginia (and require admission to at least Maryland with the eventual goal of admission in DC and Virginia).

You need to love what you do and have a passion for the law and helping people, whether that is helping honest employers or reasonable employees.  We want lawyers who are fearless and unafraid, and who want to develop the law, not just practice it.  Our clients' principles are worth defending and we don't tolerate bullies.  You must be a good writer/researcher, detail-oriented and a self-starter.  We seek someone who wants to balance work and life, who can work collaboratively but has the drive to take the initiative, and someone who wants to develop their skills as an attorney.  Above all, you need to be willing to work hard, enjoy learning and perfecting your skills as a lawyer, and have a good sense of humor.  The office atmosphere is casual and unpretentious.  Compensation is negotiable based on experience and includes both salary as well as variable compensation based on actualized billing.  Benefits also include 401(k) (*including profit sharing), health insurance, and generous student loan debt repayment.  Minorities, working parents, and veterans are encouraged to apply.  We will consider modified schedules and flexible workplace arrangements.  Experienced attorneys looking to "make that change" with portable client/business - let's talk!

To apply, please submit a resume and a cover letter and include why you think this might be a good fit, and your greatest or proudest achievement as a lawyer or law student.  If selected for interview, we may request additional materials, including law school transcript, writing sample, and list of three references.

All interested candidates should contact Jordan S. Liew, Esquire, at 301-251-3752 ext 102 for application instructions.
